About Us
Brown and Senter is one of the southeast’s oldest law firms. J. M. Brown, the founding member of the firm, began practice in 1878. He was joined by his son, R. Lane Brown, Sr. in 1908. Richard L. Brown, Jr. continued in the family tradition, beginning his practice with the firm in 1931. In 1966, Charles P. Brown joined his father in practice and has engaged in active practice since 1966. Brown and Senter engages in active practice in both civil and criminal litigation, and in estate planning and administration.
Our skilled staff, Vivian Turner, Crystal Layton, and Kelly Caudle help us provide quality service for our clients.
Beyond engaging in the active practice of law, members of the firm are also involved in local, state and national bar organizations and associations. Additionally, members of the firm participate actively in church, civic and educational organizations.
The firm maintains its office in downtown Albemarle, conveniently located near the Stanly County courthouse at the corner of Main and Second streets. The Albemarle office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (closing Fridays at 4:00 p.m.).
